Emergency Media and Public Affairs (EMPA) is a registered not-for-profit company formed by like-minded professionals aiming to further the profession of the emergency or crisis Communicator.
EMPA runs an annual conference intended to share experience and knowledge amongst crisis communicators from both government and industry.
In addition to the annual conference, EMPA has announced its first EMPA NZ Conference in Auckland 22-23 May 2014.

EMPA Research and Development Centre is supervised by a committee of practitioners from government agencies and researchers from La Trobe University and the Universities of the Sunshine Coast and Southern Queensland.
